Northern Lights Tours
The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, is a natural light phenomenon in the sky that can be seen at high latitudes in the Arctic region. The Northern Lights are visible on dark, clear nights—meaning they cannot be seen during the bright summer nights or when the sky is cloudy.
Winter and spring are usually less cloudy than autumn in the northern aurora zone, but the Northern Lights can already be seen in late summer, such as in August, when the nights begin to grow darker. The most active period is generally between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM, although activity may occur at any time during the dark hours. Active displays typically last around 30 minutes and, when solar activity is high, may repeat roughly every two hours.
If you would like to check aurora activity and receive alerts on your phone, you can download an aurora forecast application, such as My Aurora Forecast & Alerts.
